Basic Text Formatting
Bold
To make your text bold, select the text you want to emphasize and use the following options:
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + B - Manual Method: Click the B icon in the toolbar.
Advanced:**Bold Text** becomes Bold Text.
Italic
Italicizing text can add emphasis or denote titles and foreign words.
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + I - Manual Method: Click the I icon in the toolbar.
Advanced:*Italic Text* becomes Italic Text.
Underlined
Underline text to highlight important information.
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + U - Manual Method: Click the U icon in the toolbar.
Strikethrough
Strikethrough is useful for showing deletions or indicating text that is no longer relevant.
- Shortcut: None
- Manual Method: Click the S icon in the toolbar.
Advanced:~~Strikethrough Text~~ becomes Strikethrough Text.
Advanced Text Formatting
Code
To display inline code, which is helpful for snippets of programming code or commands:
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + Shift + M - Manual Method: Click the { } icon in the toolbar.
Advanced:`Code Text` becomes Code Text.
Subscript
Subscript text is used for mathematical formulas or chemical compounds.
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + Shift +,
Superscript
Superscript is used for exponents and ordinal indicators.
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + Shift +,
Clearing Formatting
To remove all formatting from a selection of text:
- Shortcut:
Ctrl + \ - Manual Method: Select the text, click the “Clear formatting” icon (eraser) in the toolbar.
Advanced:
Formatted text will revert to plain text.
Acess Formatting options in the editor
You can open all formatting options in the editor by clicking on the three-dot menu next to the Bold and Italic options.
